Early Morning Airport Adventures: Pajamas and Doughnuts

It’s 6 am at DIA and I’m noticing lots of different types of families! A few brave parents are sloshing kids around in a comatose state. The ones I’m attracted to are the kids in jammies and slippers! Honestly, why even bother trying to dress them? Most likely they got up at 3:30 am, and let’s be real, the kids were the last thing on their minds.
As I watch, I'm reminded of "Home Alone" and chuckle to myself, "I’ve almost done that!" It's a miracle we don’t lose more kids in the airport chaos. Funny, I don’t see any of the kids crying. Is it too early for tantrums, or has mom already stuffed a donut in their sweet little mouths? Let’s be honest, it was probably dad!
In moments like these, it strikes me how every day is indeed a gift from God. Each family we encounter is on its own journey. No matter the destination or circumstance, there’s beauty in these shared experiences.
